Cate Blanchett was a guest of Alexander McQueen ‘s head-designer Sarah Burton on Monday night for the 2012 MET Gala.
The 42-year-old statuesque actress hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a daring black trumpet gown from the Fall 2012 collection that was completely embroidered in black feathers.
I love the silhouette and style; Cate looked lovely in it. Sure, it was extravagant but it wasn’t tacky and nothing else was overdone.
Cate kept the look chic with a high-volume low ponytail and a fresh face of make-up. In fact, her lightly lined eyes and pale glossy lips were pretty much flawless.
She finished off with McQueen accessories, including her shoes and a black pom-pom embellished skull minaudière.
Cate’s jewelry is from Van Cleef & Arpels.
